OVID Prismatic Veil

Blowout Styling Color Protecting Mist

A leave‑in micro‑mist applied to damp hair pre‑blowout that stabilizes the surface, neutralizes dulling accelerants, and uses heat to form an ultra‑thin protective veil for touchable control and beautiful shine.

Best for

Color‑treated and lightened hair that loses clarity and smoothness quickly after styling. Anyone who wants blowout longevity, humidity resistance, and shine without buildup.

Pairs with

Prismatic Lock as the rinse‑out seal step, then Veil as the leave‑in styling and preservation step.

Why Blowouts Last Longer With Prismatic Veil

A blowout can look perfect on day one and still fall off faster than it should. That usually happens for two reasons: styling stresses the surface, and invisible residue keeps working in the background.

Prismatic Veil keeps the surface aligned while you build the finish. It helps reduce drag during brushing and drying, keeps shine cleaner between washes, and improves durability of smoothness after the reveal.

What clients notice

Blowouts feel softer, not sticky

Shine looks cleaner, not oily

Color looks clearer for longer between services

Better durability between washes, without a "producty" feel

What stylists notice

Faster, easier blowouts with less drag

More consistent finishing across porosity zones

Better durability of smoothness past the reveal

Why Color Is Vulnerable After the Service

Even after rinsing, color-treated hair isn't truly finished. Residual alkalinity, oxidative stress, trace metals, and a still-lifted cuticle leave the fiber reactive.

This is when tone drifts, shine dulls, and texture starts to roughen — often before the first wash.

Prismatic Lock treats this as a chemistry problem, not a cosmetic one.

What Makes This Product Different

Most styling products make a trade. Softness or hold. Shine or buildup. Veil was built for a different window and a different job.

It protects the finish during the styling window

Color doesn't just fade in the shower. It starts losing clarity during styling and the days that follow, when heat, friction, and humidity destabilize the surface. Veil targets that exact window.

Micro reset on damp hair, then performance under heat

Copper and iron accelerate oxidation and tone shift. Chelation during the reset binds these metals so they can't continue degrading color in the background.

Heat-activated film architecture for flexible control

During blow‑drying, heat activates an ultra‑thin veil designed for flexible memory and humidity resistance without a high‑hold resin feel. You get body and control that stay touchable, not stiff.

Optical gloss designed for clean reflection

High‑performance gloss materials increase reflectivity and reduce surface scatter, but deposition is intentionally light and self‑limiting so hair doesn't feel coated over repeat use.

How It Works

Prismatic Veil follows a fixed mechanism map, in a fixed order.

First, Prismatic Veil creates a controlled acidic environment for predictable fiber behavior. On damp hair, it drives the hair into a controlled acidic range, causing the cuticle to lie flatter and the surface to behave more predictably during brushing and drying. This provides stabilization timed precisely to the blowout window.

Next, chelation occurs during styling. Hard-water minerals and trace metals, especially copper and iron, often act as accelerants, speeding up oxidation that leads to dullness, warmth shift, and faster fade. Prismatic Veil's chelation process binds these metals, neutralizing them so they cannot continue to drive degradation in the background.

Subsequently, a heat-activated film architecture provides flexible control. Blow-dry heat activates an ultra-thin styling film specifically designed for flexible memory and humidity resistance, all without the heavy, high-hold resin feel.

Finally, the formula delivers optical gloss without heavy deposition. High-performance gloss materials increase reflectivity and reduce surface scatter. Importantly, the deposit is intentionally light and self-limiting, ensuring hair doesn't feel coated even after repeated use.

How to Use

Step 1 — After cleansing & conditioning

Mist evenly over towel dried hair.

Step 2 — Distribute evenly

Comb once to distribute.

Step 3 — Activate with heat

Style with medium to high heat to activate the smoothing effect.

What’s Inside (and Why)

Prismatic Veil is not hairspray, nor is it a serum, a rinse-out treatment, a greasy oil, a salt spray, or a bi-phase shake-to-activate system. Instead, it is a lightweight pre-blowout mist specifically engineered for two distinct phases:

The first phase, the Micro Reset on damp hair, utilizes buffered acidification and chelation to prepare the hair. The second phase, the Blowout Veil, activates during heat with a film network, selective smoothing, and optical gloss.

When to Reach for Prismatic Veil

When your blowout loses smoothness after day one.

When humidity reintroduces frizz and chaos.

When shine turns soft and cloudy between washes.

When you want color clarity to hold longer, without feeling product in your hair.

Continue the System

Veil protects the finish you build.

Use Prismatic Cleanse and Prismatic Lock on color days, then apply Veil on damp hair for the blowout window and beyond.
